Georgia Williams was born on September 17, 1995 to parents Lynette & Steve Williams. She had an older sister named Scarlett & the family lived in Telford, Shropshire, England. Her father Steve worked as a police detective.

Georgia was described as someone who went out of her way to care for others. It was always her goal to make people feel included & comfortable.

When Georgia was younger & in middle school, she faced bullying but as she moved on to high school, she became very popular & well-liked. She had a large circle of friends & even became head girl of her school, Ercall Wood Technology College, which is a leadership role that represents the entire student body. It was Georgia’s dream to one day become a Royal Air Forces (RAF) paramedic & during her time in high school, she began training as an air cadet. Her dad described her as a “gorgeous tomboy” as she loved to be outdoors & had an outgoing, adventurous spirit.

When she turned 17, Georgia got a job at a gas station in her town & befriended many of her co-workers. This included 22-year-old Jaime Reynolds. Jaime was a man who presented as very socially awkward & because he seemed to be left out, Georgia made a point to befriend him. With her help, he soon began to participate in group activities amongst the co-workers.

Jaime & Georgia

It didn’t take long for Jaime to develop feelings toward Georgia & he eventually worked up the courage to tell her how he was feeling & ask her out on a date. He even told her he would love it if he could be her boyfriend. Georgia kindly & respectfully turned him down & explained that she wasn’t interested in a relationship & wanted to avoid ruining their friendship.

Jaime felt upset by Georgia’s response, but chose to respect her wishes in order to maintain their friendship. However, little did Georgia know that Jaime was quietly harboring an extremely unhealthy obsession for her. During their shift together one day, Jaime confided in Georgia & told her that he was deeply unhappy with his life & no longer wanted to work at the gas station. He said that he was getting older & was interested in pursuing his passion of photography in hopes that it could one day become a career.

Georgia wanted to support her friend so she sat down with him to talk about his goals & plans. She encouraged his pursuit of photography & Jaime asked her to help him create a professional portfolio. He also hoped she could be his first model or photography subject.

Being the good friend she was, Georgia agreed & they set a date for a photo shoot for Sunday, May 26, 2013. The plan was for Georgia & a few of her friends to go over to Jaime’s parent’s house for the shoot.

As the day of the photoshoot came around, Georgia almost canceled the plans because her family was having a BBQ with her grandparents whom she hadn’t seen in some time. She didn’t want to let her friend down, so she planned on scheduling the day so she could do both. She & Jaime lived only five minutes apart so she told her family that she would go there for a quick photoshoot & then head back home to visit with her family.

Georgia got ready & quickly did her hair & makeup; she wore jeans & a leather jacket & headed over to Jaime’s house. As she left her family home, her father told her that she looked beautiful & that she reminded him of ‘Sandy’ from the movie ‘Grease.’ There was no way that Steve could have known that these would be the last words he would ever speak to his daughter.

Georgia walked out the door at 7:30 pm & her family expected her back relatively quickly. After three hours had passed, they became concerned that she hadn’t come home.

Her mother, Lynette assumed that Georgia must have gotten caught up with what she was doing & lost track of time. She sent her daughter a text, asking her when the photoshoot would be finished. Georgia responded that the photoshoot had ended a while ago, but she was just hanging out with her friends & likely wouldn’t be home until late.  Her mom was satisfied with the response & saw that her daughter had ended the text with three kissy face emojis which was very typical of Georgia. She knew that Georgia was a responsible person who stayed out of trouble so she wasn’t concerned.

Later that night, Lynette & Steve headed to bed & when they awoke the next morning, they were alarmed to see that Georgia still hadn’t returned. At 6:30 am, Lynette sent another text, asking where she was & when she would be home. Georgia responded at 7:30 am & told her that she had stayed the night at a friend’s house & that her phone’s battery was dying. She explained that if she didn’t send another text after this, that was why.

Lynette didn’t know at the time, but the text responses she was receiving were not from Georgia.

It was now Monday, May 27 & Lynette & Steve knew that Georgia had plans to attend a music festival & assumed she would be gone for the day, going straight from her friend’s house. They expected her to be home by the next morning since she had her first driving lesson scheduled. Georgia had been very excited to learn how to drive. As the day wore on to night & Georgia still wasn’t home, Lynette & Steve’s worry began to grow. Feeling a sense of panic, they began to contact friends & relatives, but no one had heard from or seen Georgia in days.

When Georgia still hadn’t returned by the next morning for her driving lesson, Tuesday, May 28, Lynette & Steve decided to report their daughter missing. They tried to give as much information as possible & told them that on Sunday, she had gone to Jaime Reynold’s house for a photoshoot. They had no information beyond that.

When police looked into Jaime Reynolds, they saw that he had a disturbing record. In 2008, he was caught by police when he attempted to strangle a girl. At the time, no arrest was made & no charges were filed. He had been given a warning & sent on his way.

Police went to Jaime’s house to question him since he was the last known person to have seen Georgia. When they knocked on the door & no one answered, police kicked the door in & looked around the house, but no one was home.

When they went to the gas station to speak with Jaime & Georgia’s co-workers, no one had seen either. Both had also missed their shifts which was very uncharacteristic. Police contacted Jaime’s parents who were on vacation, but provided them with the registration of the van he drove that belonged to his step-father.

The Shropshire police notified stations across the UK to be on the lookout for the van.  Not long after, police tracked Jaime down 208 miles away in Glasgow, Scotland. The fact that he’d left the country was concerning to the police.

On Thursday, May 30, 2013, police arrested Jaime at a budget hotel on suspicion of kidnapping & took him in for questioning. He told police that he didn’t know where Georgia was & he was transported back to Shropshire. Georgia’s family was devastated when police informed them of the situation & told them that things were not looking good.

With Jaime in custody, police were able to conduct a thorough search of his home. They found a camera with an SD card inside but noted that all of the files had been deleted. The camera was taken to the station to allow experts to recover the files.

When this was completed, police were able to see the images that had been taken. The first couple of photos were of Georgia & appeared to be typical pictures from a photoshoot. This proved that Georgia had been with Jaime the day that she went missing. In the images, she looked happy & carefree & she was fully clothed.

As police continued to search through the images, they became darker & more disturbing as they went on. Later photos showed that Georgia was naked & standing on a red recycling box & her hands appeared to be bound behind her with a rope hanging above her. Photo 12 displayed the correct time of 8:20 pm & at that point, Georgia’s face still showed no sign of alarm & this was the last photo of her alive. It’s believed that he murdered Georgia before 9 pm that night.

Jaime filmed Georgia’s final moments & police watched in horror as he kicked the red box out from under her. They watched as she struggled for breath until she died. The final images were extremely graphic & disturbing & showed that Jaime engaged in intercourse with Georgia’s corpse in various rooms of his parent’s house, including his parent’s bed. He also posed her body in various positions & removed her jewelry to keep as souvenirs. He then utilized her cell phone to text her parents.

Police ended up finding 16,800 photos & 72 videos of extremely violent pornography, rape videos & snuff films of people being tortured & murdered. Jaime later told police that he was turned on by strangulation. His parents ended their vacation in order to come home & speak with police. They confirmed that their son had been watching violent porn since at least age fourteen. It’s possible it was going on longer, but this was the time they caught him.

Jaime’s parents didn’t take his laptop away from him since he needed it for school, but they did contact their internet provider & had access to all of those websites blocked. Being a creative & manipulative teen, he called the internet provider himself & paid for his own private Wi-Fi so his parents would be unaware that he continued to utilize these sites. They were so concerned when they found these videos on their son’s computer that Jaime’s parents notified the police & CPS but they were told that viewing of this content was not illegal & there was nothing they could do.

During the search of the home, police also found notepads with forty different stories that Jaime had written that included the torture, rape & murder of women. He’d also printed pictures of women online & drew a picture of a noose around their necks. There had been doctored images of at least eight girls that he’d personally known. One story had been specifically written about Georgia & was titled, “Georgia Williams in Surprise.” This was the exact story of what Jaime had done to Georgia in reality. He began writing the story in January & completed it three weeks before the murder took place.

While his parents were vacationing in Italy, Jaime took his opportunity to turn his fantasy story into reality. Jaime had tricked Georgia into thinking that he was creating an artistic photoshoot involving a simulation by hanging. He had hung a noose to a hanging mechanism that he fitted to the loft hatch of the house, above the landing. Based on his writings, he told her that she would stand on a box that would be edited out so it appeared as if she was floating. The initial photos on his hard drive were of Georgia alive & smiling with a red rope around her neck & the next were a series of her dead.

Those that knew Jaime saw him as a little odd, quiet & reserved but not anyone they could have imagined was capable of what he’d done to Georgia.

Jaime refused to tell the police what he had done with Georgia’s body so police set about retracing his steps from Monday morning, May 27, the day after he killed her.  They started at a gas station where surveillance footage showed him getting gas for his white van. At this time, Georgia’s body was in the back of the van. From here, he drove 60 miles where he went to the movie theater & left Georgia’s body in the van while he watched a movie. Police believe this was his warped version of taking Georgia out on a date. From the theater, police lost track of his movements so they put out a public statement, asking anyone to come forward who may have seen his van.

People came forward & informed police that they’d seen the van on Nant-y-Garth mountain pass near Wrexham. The area was dense with woods & muddy terrain. At one point, Jaime’s van had gotten caught in the mud & helpful people stopped to assist. Police headed to the area & were able to locate the naked body of Georgia Williams. Post-mortem showed that Georgia died from asphyxia, likely caused from the rope police had viewed in the photos. Bruising was also found on the back of her neck, indicating that Jaime had likely used his knee to apply pressure.

Despite all of the evidence, Jaime was maintaining his innocence. This changed on the first day of the trial, when in December of 2013, he decided to stand & admit what he had done. Georgia’s father Steve said that his wife, Lynnette would carry the scars of seeing her daughter’s body as it laid in the hospital’s chapel of rest “from here to eternity.”

During the trial, it was discovered that police were aware of Jaime in 2008 when he received what the judge referred to as a “final warning” after trapping another 17-year-old girl in his home. In 2011, he was reported again, this time for reversing his car into a girl who had refused his advances & got off with nothing more than a traffic warning. Jaime was referred to as a “sexual deviant” by the judge & as the trial for Georgia’s murder was ending, it was stated that he was at risk for becoming a dangerous serial killer & was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Jaime was the 46th person to receive this sentence & the youngest in history. The judge, Mr Justice Wilkie said, “Georgia would not have died instantly but would have suffered horribly both mentally & physically, knowing she had been betrayed by someone whom she had trusted & into whose power she had given himself. Killing Georgia was a long-standing, recurrent, preoccupation with violent, sadistic pornography. You enjoyed the spectacle of her final, ghastly minutes as she struggled for life knowing that she was facing death.”

As Georgia’s parents & her sister were forced to listen to the brutal details of how she had been lured to her death & what her final moments entailed, Jaime hung his head. As the specific details of Georgia’s death were discussed, her family could stand no more & left the courtroom.

In 2014 Jamie unsuccessfully appealed his life sentence. A case review was opened in 2015 to examine how police officers, children’s services & mental health workers had handled Jaime five years before he murdered Georgia & had attempted to strangle another girl he had invited to his house.

Georgia’s parents were horrified when they read the report & felt that the agencies had failed because it was clear to them that Jaime had the characteristics of a murderer in the making & felt that their beloved daughter’s death could have been prevented. Jaime had previously told therapists that he found images of strangulation exciting & had experimented with asphyxiation, using a plastic bag. Had Lynette & Steve had any idea of these dangerous thoughts, they would have never allowed their daughter to spend time in Jaime’s company. They had known Jaime for years & had been inside their daughter’s social circle & as far as they were concerned, he was no one to be concerned about.

Steve Williams spoke outside the courtroom & said, “There is no sentence that we can say we’re satisfied with because it’ll never bring Georgia back. She’s dead, she’s gone physically & lives in our hearts.” He added that whatever the length of prison term Jaime had been given, he still had the one that their daughter had been denied & that was life.

Georgia’s mom Lynette has since channeled her grief into writing a book, Our Georgia, where she was able to express her feelings of betrayal that Jaime had been free to kill after glaring issues had been previously ignored.

In June of 2013, family & friends created the Georgia Williams Trust which is a charity dedicated to providing assistance for young people to access adventure, outdoor activities & volunteering.
